Witold BIAŁY, Michał MOLENDA The educational cooperation in Poland - Czech Republic with use of eu funds - case study
Abstract: The paper presents the way of implementing cross-border cooperation in the field of exchange of experiences between universities located on both sides of the border. The use of mathema-tical methods in production engineering are the subjects concerned in the cooperation. The common activities and experiences of each party should indicate directions for developing new or modifying existing mathematical methods. As a result of these efforts, mechanisms will be implemented to bring existing mathematical rules into line with needs and conditions, taking into account the technologi-cal, organizational and structural differences that occur between neighboring countries. The article presents the actions taken by the universities educating engineers: Silesian University of Technology (Poland) and the Higher School of Mining and Metallurgy in Ostrava (Czech Republic). To achieve this, the EU funds under the Structural Funds were raised. The project is cofinanced by the European Regional Development Fund "Przekraczamy Granice" and from the state budget of Poland. The main objective of the project are conferences involving project developers and entrepreneurs, service pro-viders from the border area (support area).

Jarosław BRODNY, Kinga STECUŁA, Dorota PALKA Application of it tools to study the effectiveness of the use of mining machines
Abstract: In order to objectively and reliably determine the effectiveness of machines, it is necessary to use data recorded by the industrial automation systems. At present, these systems are very expanded and register many parameters of the machines’ work. This data is used mainly to diagnose the work of these machines. The paper assumes that this data will be the basis for determining the effectiveness of machines. A large amount of this data requires the use of the appropriate IT tools for archiving, synchronizing and analytically processing. The article discusses the basic tools which can be used in this process and shows an example of their practical use. These tools are databases, data warehouses and IT platforms. Their practical use is presented in the example of a longwall shearer and armoured face conveyor.

Łukasz DZIEMBA, Stefan SENCZYNA Process model for planning and production control in an enterprise supported by the ERP functions
Abstract: The production enterprise environment is the customer's expectation of effective and timely fulfillment of their needs. It makes ERP IT systems a key tool in improving and enhancing management. The paper presents process models as a method of improving management by extending the support of an ERP system. The first part describes the organization of the production department and the flows and processing of information. The second part presents conceptual models, based on the assumptions of structural analysis. Interpretation of conceptual models of processes, in publica-tions are planning and production control models, is a method of linking the functions of the ERP system with the organization and processes of information processing. This gives you the opportunity to improve your management using an ERP system based on the skills of your company.

Robert SKLORZ, Łukasz PUZIO, Jarosław BRODNY Impact of selected environmental and flight data parameters on fuel consumption of the jet transport aircraft – initial analysis
Abstract: Every enterprise aims at maximizing economic yield, including air carrier enterprises. Optimization of direct operating costs related to aircraft operation is a key contributor to economic yield. Fuel consumption constitutes the biggest single direct operating cost for all air carriers, therefore its optimization is of utmost importance. Identification of environmental factors and flight data parameters affecting it is crucial. This article presents initial analysis of selected environmental factors and flight data parameters influencing fuel consumption for distinctively selected flight phases. Analysis given below should be treated as preliminary, giving introduction to the more ad-vanced elaborations.

Bartosz SZCZĘŚNIAK Support the process of timetable scheduling for an educational course – timetable verification
Abstract: The article presents solutions applied to verify the correctness of a timetable being developed using an IT tool supporting the process of timetable scheduling for an educational course. The tool being addressed was originally created in a spreadsheet by following the author’s signature con-cept of “Microtools Based on the Relational Data Model”. In the part dedicated to establishing the functionality assumed for the solution in question, main conditions to be satisfied in order for the timetable to be verified as correct have been determined. The data structure identified for the pro-blem analysed has been illustrated using the Entity Relationship Diagram in line with the CASE Method. The manner in which this structure is implemented in a spreadsheet has been discussed. The most important section of the study provides a detailed description of the proposed solutions enab-ling verification of all the pre-defined conditions. In closing paragraphs of the article, all spreadsheet elements which enabled the assumed functionality to be achieved have been identified.
