Piotr BIELAWSKI Diagnosing the wear margin of thermal nodes
Abstract: The philosophy of building diagnostic relationships based on the were margin of functional units nodes is presented. A model of the thermal node has been described. It has been shown that the heat transfer coefficient is a surrogate measure of the wear margin of a thermal node. The relationship between the heat transfer coefficient and the measure of diagnostic symptom is presented. The range of symptom measure values has been characterized.

Bożena GAJDZIK, Jan SZYMSZAL Short-term forecast national production of steel and ratio between the integrated production process and electric
Abstract: Forecasting is part of the decision-making process, which generates the desired image of the future state of the enterprise and identifies ways to achieve it. Development of forecasts is aware of the proceedings and based on some method. In this publication, the methods of statistical and econometric are used. Forecasting related to steel production and the ratio between the applied technologies. The scope of the research included the domestic steel industry. Due to the duration of predictions, which was adopted 2020, they set the forecast was for the short-term.

Arkadiusz BOCZKOWSKI Basic mistakes made within designs and installations of noise barriers
Abstract: Noise barriers are a basic tool for noise reduction from linear sources, such as roads, railways or tramways. Their efficiency depends chiefly on geometric and material parameters adopted for the design, as well as precision of manufacture and installation. This article presents most common mistakes made within designs, manufacture and installation of roadside noise barriers and ways in which those mistakes affect the barriers’ efficiency.

Arkadiusz BOCZKOWSKI Analysis of the effects of driveway shape on the efficiency of roadside noise barriers
Abstract: Roadside noise barriers are the most common measure for reduction of traffic noise around housing. In existing traffic systems the necessity of noise reduction through acoustic screens often conflicts with existing driveways and local roads. Proper design of driveways allows for increased effectiveness of the barriers and is usually crucial to the success of the undertaking. Leaving multiple openings within the barriers leads to decreased efficiency and the occurrence of acoustic glimmering. This article presents the efficiency-decreasing effects of leaving discontinuities within the noise barriers and appropriate solutions for noise reduction around driveways.

D. Rafael Barrionuevo GIMÉNEZ Saving energy in lights
Abstract: One of the main problems to consider by engineering nowadays is “to manage the energy effectively”, and light up the city or external areas in a mine. It is being very expensive. The engineer could be manage the switch on/off over streetlight giving a timetable per day, month and year and calculate the “saved electric power”. You can establish future predictions about savings in function of mathematics parameters based on the solar ecliptic path. You can decrease the light pollution effects. You can manage and use, different switch on/off timetables per groups of light lines.
