Implementation of enterprise resource planning system and change in accountant’s role – Polish perspective
Abstract: ERP systems integrate all processes and software users in one computerized environment reshaping organization to fit into system’s functionalities. ERP system implementation is a complex process with technical and socio-organizational issues. As ERP system encompass financial data and management decision modules, accountants are important actors of the system both during implementation and after go-live stage.
Key words: enterprise resource planning system, management accounting, implementation of ERP

Evaluation of training and-methodological support of university courses
Abstract: Quality of teaching at a Higher Education Institution certainly depends on the integrity and quality of its training and methodological support. However, in order to improve this quality it is necessary to have a sound methodology for evaluation of such support. This article contains a list of recommended university teaching course materials, criteria of their separate components evaluation and an approach to calculating the quality levels of separate components and teaching course materials as a whole.
Key words: learning, criteria for the assessment, quality

The problems of modeling the reliability structure of the complex technical system on the basis of a steam-water system of the engine room
Abstract: In the paper the concept of a system structure with particular emphasis on the reliability structure has been presented. Advantages and disadvantages of modeling the reliability structure of a system using reliability block diagrams (RBD) have been shown. RBD models of a marine steam-water system constructed according to the concept of ‘multi-component’, ‘one component’ and mixed models have been discussed. Critical remarks on the practical application of models which recognize only the structural surplus have been dealt with. The significant value of the model by professors Smalko and Jaźwiński called by them ‘default reliability structure’ has been pointed out. The necessity of building a new type of models: quality-quantity, useful in the methodology developed by the author's multi – criteria analysis of importance of elements in the reliability structure of complex technical systems.

Efficiency increasing of belt conveyor’s drive by ceramic lagging of driving pulley
Abstract: In any point of the belt contact with the drum a relative speed compensation takes place that is carried out by a slippage even when the relevant contact spots are fairly clean and dry. This leads to heat generation that is being absorbed by both materials involved – by the belt as well as by the drum. Unlike the belt, the drum lagging would increase its temperature up to a certain limit that depends on number of factors. When the lagging surface temperature is reaching appx. 60°C some structural changes in the lagging material take place and further rise of temperature can create a risk of belt inflammation and destruction of the driving unit. This can be avoided by lagging the drum with new materials that eliminate any friction on the contact surfaces and that are heat resistant.

Ships mooring in the port as a threat to our natural environment
Abstract: An increase in the marine transportation along with growing requirement for electricity by the ships result in the increased pollution of the air generated by the ships. This has a great impact both on the port cities and their inhabitants. This article presents the collation of different sources of air pollution emission in ports for the marine ships. The estimation of the rate of air pollutants emitted by the ships in ports is necessary for the proper economic activity of the port. It also creates the basis to determine the impact of the port work on the environment. The authors present a methodology of calculating emission from ships at berth in ports.
Key words: emission of air pollutants, emission sources, emission factor

Ecological, economic and social consequences of emergencies on potash mines
Abstract: Consequences of emergencies on potash mines in Russia, Poland, Germany, Canada, connected with gas and dynamic the phenomena and sudden powerful water- and brine-flows are considered. Examples of both emergency flooding of mines, and successful carrying out of some actions for protection against water inflows are shown. Ecological, economic and social consequences of failures are systematized. Wide range consequences of major emergencies for corporate, regional and national level are allocated. Experience of compensation of the caused damage in the Russian potash companies is analyzed.
Key words: emergencies, damage compensation, ecological, economic, social consequences

The hydrocarbon impurity of mineral waters and soils in Iwonicz-Zdrój
Abstract: The commune of Iwonicz-Zdrój is a spa commune. The co-occurrence of springs of mineral water with sources of hydrocarbon substances is characteristic of the commune. The natural emissions of hydrocarbons poses a risk of their continuous or pulsed entering into soil and water. The zone A of the health resort protection is to meet the specific requirements of environmental protection. In this zone, samples of soil and underground water were taken for laboratory tests. Substances exceeding the standards of environmental quality were fixed.

The harmonization and optimization of diagnostic methods for a belt conveyor
Abstract: The final aim of the project MPO FR-T11/537 called “The Complex Diagnostic System for the Belt Transport” is a single part custom manufacturing and sale of complex diagnostic system for belt transportation and related services. The output of the project is a prototype of a diagnostic system on a model belt conveyor with prepared and certified diagnostic services and methods including their measurements and other supportive tools. The article will introduce the present state of the solution for the given grant project, especially in the field of suggested work on the diagnostic and supportive methods and other measurements.
